April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 in seventh grade. She began playing guitar, and also taking piano classes, which spurred her enthusiasm for the art of songwriting. In the teen years, April composed her first single Different. At the age of 14, April committed a large amount of time composing songs and practicing her music. In the following months she would begin taking trips to write along with her father, in LA as well as NY. April started to incorporate additional relevant subjects into the song, such as the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure impairments and even suicide among teenagers. Lockhart has her own following and also works as a lifestyle blogger under the popular Ilia Clean Beauty brand. It's true that she was born with no left hand, and it gives her a unique look. However, this isn't the only characteristic of her. Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't focus solely on her disability. What message is it sending? The message? We can all be multifaceted and our physical and mental identities don't always reflect what they seem. Lockhart in a video message sent from Nashville's house, states that I don't think that this should be a part of me. I am more than my physical self. The fact that it's not affecting my normal life. I just do things normally, and I've discovered ways to manage circumstances. Because it is also part of my identity, it's something that's worthy of discussion. Lockhart's journey to acceptance of herself is a journey that's going to last an entire lifetime. She is an inspiration with regard to this. Lockhart has admitted that she's experienced periods when she felt insecure about the way she dressed and showed her arms. Nowadays, she can wear whatever she'd like. and she shares her photos on social media. She says that self-love is a journey. I'm not certain if you'll ever make it to the finish line. But I think that's with all people, regardless of what their fear may be. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you and who can look into your heart, are those who will remind you about the importance of your life.
